This is my second PR planning and brainstorming day with a national journalist.

The workshop will take place on June 26th 2024 from 9.30 am to 4pm at Cotswold Park Barns.  The early bird cost is £300, rising to £420 on Saturday June 1st. The cost includes VAT.

The day is designed to help business owners, fellow PRs, marketing executives or those involved in the third sector to plan their PR and their media outreach.

My first was with Clare O’Reilly and the day was a great success.

This time, I’m working with national journalist, Liz Perkins.  She’ll be sharing with those who attend, stories, case studies and the experts she is looking to work with.

It is rare to get time with national journalists, and what I aim for on these days is for the people who attend to understand the best way to get good PR is to actually meet and engage with journalists and fully understand their agenda.  With this understanding you can begin to see the many amazing opportunities that can come your way – regardless of the size and scope of your business or organisation.

All about Liz Perkins:

She has been a working journalist for over 35 years. She is the night news editor of the Daily Express. Alongside that role, she successfully changed the law through the eight times award-nominated End This Injustice campaign that led the Government to pledge to overhaul the Family Court through the Domestic Abuse Bill. Plus, she also freelances on the night news desk of the Sunday Telegraph.

She has experience of working across the national press outlets, from the Daily Telegraph to the Sunday Times.

Liz is a double award winner for breaking the exclusive on sexism and misogyny in the Welsh Rugby Union in the Daily Mail.

Whilst previously reporting at the South Wales Evening Post, she visited Afghanistan six times.

She has also reported at Wimbledon, and her job has taken her across the world, including to the home of Amazon founder, Jeff Bezos.

Attendees are obviously going to have the experience of meeting a very knowledgeable and seasoned journalist.

Other elements of the day.

In the morning, I will talk about what PR is, and also talk about how you should approach journalists, and the way you should definitely not!  Building relationships with them is the best way, and this is why these workshops are so popular.

During the afternoon attendees will pitch their ideas to Liz and I, and we’ll give feedback.

A very useful additional element to the days is that a professional photographer will attend and up to six attendees can have a wonderful mini photoshoot on the day, to get media-friendly shots for an extra cost of £50 plus VAT. You will have access to a gallery where you can choose up to five of those images for your future use. Please email Hannah to book. hannah@fionascott.co.uk

Lunch as always on my workshops will be a grazing lunch provided by the wonderful Truffle & Thyme. It will cater for all dietary needs as long as attendees inform us beforehand of those needs.

To ensure that everyone on the workshop gets the full attention of me and Liz Perkins, there will only be a maximum of 20 attendees.

If you think this is for you then please visit my website to book your place:
